Mechanisms of reactive oxygen species in oral lichen planus: A literature review
نویسندگان
چکیده
Oral lichen planus is a chronic non-infectious mucosal inflammatory disease caused by an imbalance between reactive oxygen species homeostasis and antioxidant defense systems. Notably, excessive oxidative stress products result in related autoimmune reactions. Further, it activates signaling pathways to the development of oral planus, as evidenced detection damage deoxyribonucleic acid, protein, lipid. Thus, mechanisms species-mediated pathogenesis are numerous complex. In this review, we first introduce products. Then, summarize role possible present clinical correlation planus. Finally, discuss current challenges future perspectives.

Oral Lichen Planus or Oral Lichenoid Reaction? A Literature Review
Background and Aim: Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a chronic, inflammatory, T-cell-mediated autoimmune oral mucosal disease. Oral lichenoid lesions develop as a type IV hypersensitivity reaction. Both of these entities are potential precancerous conditions; this adds to their clinical significance. The purpose of this literature review was to detect the similarities and the differences of these le...
متن کاملAssessment of the Relationship Between Stress and Oral Lichen Planus: A Review of Literature
Background and Aim: Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a chronic inflammatory lesion. Psychological stress occurs when someone senses that environmental demands exceed his/her adaptive capability. Stress, anxiety, and depression have frequently been mentioned as possible factors related to the development of OLP, although this association remains controversial. In most studies, a positive correlation ...

BACKGROUND AND AIM: Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a chronic, autoimmune, inflammatory disease. The progression of OLP to oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) has generated a longstanding controversy about the details of this malignant transformation potential. This study aimed to do a systematic review on the molecular markers related to the malignant transformation of OLP.METHODS: We searched the...

متن کاملLichen Planus – A Review
Lichen planus is a fairly distinctive, chronic, immunologically mediated mucocutaneous disease, of uncertain etiology that was first described as a disease of the skin that can also affect mucosal surfaces, including those that line the oral cavity. The prevalence of LP in the general population is of the order of 0.9 to 1.2%. It is stated that approximately 40% of lesions occur on both oral an...
